Advantages: Fast access throughout Europe

Disadvantages: Needs to consolidate all its purchases to really benefit from a cohesive site to compete with its new rivals

Tiscali.com have set themselves up to provide a pan european high speed internet access service.

My previous opinion in this site was based on my frustration thnat although calling themselves Pan European their site was accessable by most european languages except English.

This has now changed by the acquisition of several other ISPs.

"UPDATE" - Tiscali have been on a massive european shopping spree and can now define themselves as pan - european. Their previous site was only in european languages but when thay have compleeted their consolidations the concept of their service really rocks.

Today 3rd August 2001 they acquired Tiny Online from Tiny Computers, the UK's biggest personal computer maker, for £8 million.

Also this week they have obtained Inicia a Spanish ISP and Yucom a Belgian ISP.

Along with their other ppurchases this makes Tiscali now the fourth biggest ISP in the UK. Great oaks from small acorns.

Dont know how they are paying for all this but good luck Tiscali. This ISP will now be installed on all Tiny computers sold by one of the most prolific UK computer manufacturers.

Portal is in English - seems things have moved on since you wrote it.

Problem is thet're still expanding but I think are going to get very big in this country very soon as they've taken over Libertysurf and are offering pretty decent rates for access.

It would still be pan-European, just not Pan-European and using English.. just because it isn't written up in English, doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. You didn't really write much about the service provided, only that the website is in other languages. Sorry about the rating, but that's why.
