I've been with V21 broadband for about 14 months now, during which time I've changed address once and asked them to migrate the service to where I moved to. I've got the basic Home ADSL 512 package with the addition of a static IP address, for those not into computing a static IP address lets you run certain things on your own computer you cannot do with a normal dynamic one. The cost of this is around £22 per month, or £20 without the dynamic IP. They also have costs for connection or changing address which was around £35 last time I checked. When I first joined this ISP over six months ago I signed up for which at the time was advertised as "unlimited free webspace". Recently however V21 have effectively 'moved the goalposts' on this deal; opting to 'do a deal' with Flexi-Host who now manage all V21 members webspace. The allocation has been reduced to a measly 10 MB, this V21 tell us is an improvement? I beg to differ! Having previously used Free24-7 (an economy V21 service sold under another name), I had serious reservations about signing up to V21Lite. But the offer of a free week & the fact that I was desperate for a replacement ISP since my old ISP had recently failed, swayed me to give them a go. V21 offer a variety of packages which offer increased hours & more importantly, lower contention ratios as they increase in price. The cheapest "24/7" package (£8.50) is sold under another name - Free24-7 possibly because it isn't very good. I started using this service about 7 months ago and for the price of £9.99 i could use unlimited internet whenever i wanted. However the service was actually very poor. During some hours i was not able to connect to the internet as their servers were overloaded. But not they have split their internet packages up to serveral for u to chose. I still go for the £9.99 package giving me 42 hours of surfin a week works out about 6 hours a day which is great. The service has improved immensely. Contacting by phone maybe expensive but e-mailing them is fab they get back to u with in the next day or the day after hows that for service?
