Advantages: Only £9.99
Disadvantages: Slow, Connection Error, Re-Routing Problems
I have been using V21 internet access for just over a month now. And from using v21 internet I learned the saying "you can for what you get", because with v21 its exactly that.
There are offering one months free internet dial-up for £9.99. For this price you'll also get webmail and a slow smtp server. V21 also give you a small ammount of user web space.
When trying to connect to v21, you will never get a engaged tone, instead the server at the other end will just give you a "NO ANSWER", Very Slick In Deed.
If you reqire technical support from the v21 staff, you'll be expected to pay £1 per minute. And from my experience they try and get you chatting more as they are getting 50% of the call cost. So if I were you, email them instead but don't expect a quick responce. The average waiting time for me is 16 hours - 30 hours.
If you use IRC, don't bother in even looking at the ISP as they have blocked all IRC ports.
Another strage thing with v21 is that between 10pm and 01 am, the connection speeds drop and eventually they'll kick you off. This has happened to me several time. The connection speed just goes dead about 10-01, VERY STRAGE :(
At the moment this internet access is "Doing My Head In". I wanted to make this post at 9:35 this evening, but i'v been having a little troblem with the connection, again...
Luckely, There is no minimum contract time, So i'm able to get out next month.
So my advise to you is: "Signup at your owk risk", but for beginners its ok ????
Just letting you know that i have now quit v21 along with a few other people who were having the same problems as me. Its overloaded with members, the average connection speed was 18,600 kbps
Thumbs DOWN !!!
