Advantages: Great customer service, a wide choice of channels
Disadvantages: I've not come across any yet.
I'm aware a lot of the reviews on Virgin Media rate them as poor or average but I'm part of those who think they provide good value for money.
We have our phone line, Broadband and TV with them. We've been with them for just under a year. We're on the XL package which my husband got for a lower price than advertised when he signed up.
We pay £30 a month for all 3 (phone, tv, internet). We get channels like Setanta (good for my husbankd) and a amongst other things a French-speaking channel, which is great for me.
We've never had any problems with the phone line or the tv.
For the first time in 11 months, our Internet stopped working on Tuesday. We notified Virgin on that day and they sent an engineer out today (Thursday). He fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes. It turned out we had a loss of power and the modem was not as performant. So he changed it and attached a special plug to the back of the box.
Anyway, it's all sorted now and I'm really chuffed with the service provided.
Also we can now pick movies to view for just one penny and they've been good films so far. We've seen The Cottage and Be Kind Rewind.
Now, it's very likely that new customers are getting better deals than what we are at the moment, but when it is our renewal date I am confident we'll be able to negotiate something with Virgin as they usually do their best to keep their current customers.
Summary: A good tv/internet/phone provider who listen to their customers.
