Advantages: excellent quality of services

Disadvantages: awful customer service

Owned by Sir Richard Branson, this company is one of the largest providors of digital tv, mobile and household phones and internet services.

I have been with Virgin Media as long back as when it was telewest. At present, the longer i stay with this providor, the more I wonder why i haven't transferred to another company. I have had numerous problems over billing issues, where I had the 3 for £30 and then without prior notice, virgin changed my monthly charge, then because of this I reached my credit limit and lost services. When I contacted Virgin, very annoyed, a young call centre operator said I was on a 12 month contract and that was why my tarrif had changed. I can asure everyone reading this, I did not have any contract with this company, nor at any time did I sign anything stating otherwise.

In the end, they agreed that this was very unacceptable, and they then gave me the same package I had for the same price, cheaper than they are offering to customers. I wonder, how many people accept what they say and just pay what the bill says.

I am sure that Virgin must be losing potential customers, especially when you can get the services much cheaper elsewhere.

All be it, the standard of the services is excellent, it is customer services that is absolutely disgraceful. I am sure if Sir Richard Branson put more money into staff training than he obviously must do - then this really would be the best providor of all your home services.

Summary: brilliant company until a problem arises!
