Virgin Media: Their services and how good are they compared to BSkyB (virginmedia.com)

Advantages: Faster Internet Connection, Great Customer Service, Great packages to suit every person. Fibre Optic

Disadvantages: Fairly exspensive TV, don't get to choose TV packages.

Virgin Media is a company in the UK which provides Internet, Landline Phone, Moblie Phone, Internet and TV.
This company uses the latest in communication technology to make their whole service faster, currently, it is the fastest broadband provider in the UK. Giving speeds of up to 50mb. Has a very good TV service with hardly any problems, and the phone packages they provide can make it cheaper to call to people all around the world.

Below I am going to rate each service /10 on how good they are along with some comments.

TV Service: 7/10
One of the biggest rivals to this part of the company is BSkyB but has a few things which Sky doesn't. For one, Sky doesn't have BBC Iplayer while vigin does. This means that people can watch all the BBC progeams that they have missed for free over the last week.
Another advantage of Virgin is that the TV comes via a Firbre Optic cable. This means that if the weather is bad, you signal quality is not effected, while Sky is effected quite alot.
The only real downside to this service is the cost. It is very exspensive, if you want all the TV channels within the country Sky becomes a lot cheaper. You also don't get to choose what channels you have which is a downside. Overall. The TV service is very good but can do with some modificatios.

Internet: 10/10
Being fibre optic you have fast speeds without problems. To compare with other companies that use ADSL broadband connections with the same connection speed. For this case I'll be talking about 10mb/s connection. On average, if you use a ADSL connection which is said to be 10mb/s then your average download speed is roughly 4mb/s which ain that good. With Fibre Optic connections (Virgin Media) you are on average going to have the speed you are paying for.
Also the Internet connection with this comapny hardly encounters any problems which is a bonus.
If there is a problem with your connection, customer service is brillaint. Getting strait to the problem.

Mobile: 7/10
This service has great coverage and decent prices. It's about the same as vodafone. Th only problem is they do sent texts about offers they have which can be quite annoying. Their International rate is good aswell.

Landline Phone: 8/10
When ordering there phone package you cna contact customer service, for any service you have with Virgin Media free. Also they have good packages on offer. For example, if you phone Internationaly alot then for an extra £1.50 a month you can have cheaper calls of around 2p a minute anywhere around the world. There is lots of choise and many of their phone packages are very cheap. On average I have found sky phone to be cheaper than sky phone.

Overall: 9/10
Great service, good connections and are a very trust worthy company. They're relatively cheap in most areas but could be a little cheaper in TV. Overall very good.

Summary: Great Service, a lot out of it for a little price.
