Advantages: Easy to think set up and pay for

Disadvantages: You might not be covered for your phone model

Beware Vodafone Insurance. If the phone you have is not in stock with Vodafone then they will not replace it - and there's a £25 policy excess.
I was mis-sold this policy a year ago when I sought to ensure that my Vodafone supplied Nokia 8800 Sirocco would be insured. I was not made aware that when Vodafone chose to drop the Nokia flagship phone from their range my phone would no longer be covered. I have had to accept the lesser and chavvy 8600 Luna.
I am appalled that Vodafone have left me without insurance whilst still claiming a very high monthly premium. I have now cancelled the mis-sold policy.
The whole claim has cost me over £100 in premiums, 2x 50mile trips to a Vodafone store and over £25.00 in calls to Vodafone.
My contract of over £50 per month (which often tops £100 per month) is up in approx four months.

Summary: Be aware that you are only covered for models currently in stock

Hi tiggybear,

I'v e seen your posts on a few forums and completely understand your frustration. I personally really like my handset that I have at the moment, and can empathise with you wanting the same sort of phone again.

Unfortu nately as a company it's not possible for us to source a Nokia 8800 Scirocco from anywhere as this is a discontinued handset that Nokia don't make any more. It'd be fantastic if we could some how hold some stock of older handsets, or source them from somewhere, but there are so many different kinds of phones from over the years, plus ultimately the stock would run out eventually anyway.

Your insurance is still valid, it's just that if we don't have your exact model available we'll replace it with one of equivalent specification (this does include looks-wise, not just camera, memory capacity etc) up to the value of £600. This is outlined in the terms and conditions which you can find here for contract and here for pay as you talk.

On the point of the 8600, you should actually find better signal and battery life with that handset compared to the 8800, due to its newer technology and glass (as opposed to thick metal) casing.

Thanks ,

Hopefullyuse ful1
