Advantages: It works
Disadvantages: The customer service
I signed upto Vodafone mobile internet last Tuesday. I went into the Vodafone shop in Chelmsford, Essex and signed up to a 18th month contract. I told the man in the shop I was moving house on the Saturday and I wanted to have the internet for then. He sounded a nice genuine guy and he told me he had activated and it was ready to go. Saturday came, No internet. All it kept saying was searching for network. I pressed the support button and it gave me a phone number to ring for the customer service department as the internet needed activating.
The good for this company is that without them I wouldn't be able to write this review now as I am using their internet service.
The bad and the ugly to this review is the customer service I received. I rang the phone number I got given. I got through to a lady who was painful to listen too. She didn't understand a word I was saying. I am not even exaggerating it took me 10 minutes to explain my post code. It is 4 letters and 2 numbers. How hard can it be? It actually started to feel like she was doing it on purpose. I was starting to wonder weather she was on commission for how long she can keep me on the phone as I was really struggling to understand how a B sounds like an I? I was on the phone to this lady for 23 minutes explaining my address and what I wanted doing. After 23 minutes and several times being put on hold she told me she had to transfer me to another department, 4 minutes of another rubbish song it started ringing. It rang for about 30 seconds then it said on my phone "No answer" and it hung up. 23 minutes on the phone and all we had sorted out was what my postcode was! Needless to say I was pretty angry, but I wanted the internet to be working and she made it sound like I was being put in the right direction so I tried again.
I rang the same number back. This time I got someone different, I went through the same procedure of my post code and what not. This phone call only took 11 minutes, but at the end of the phone call he told me couldn't activate it over the phone and I needed to go back to the shop I bought it from. Over half an hour on the phone and I was in exactly the same position as I was in before I had rung it! I told him what I felt so he gave me a phone number for the branch I bought it from. I rang it several times, no answer!
I went to the shop today and 1 week after I bought it, it is now working. They "forgot" to activate it in the shop when he told me he had done it! I was outraged by the customer service I received from Vodafone.
Although the product is now working fine. I am dreading my phone bill for over 30 minutes to these people on a call charged at national rate.
Vodafone customer service is ridiculous. I will definitely think twice about using this company again
Summary: I would think twice from now on,

- 06/05/09 Im also with vodafone for my 18 months mobile contract since June of last year. To be honest, I dont like it especially the low visibility of its signal inside the building. |
