Advantages: If you enjoy money and time being drained and wasted, getting angry down the phone, you'll love it.

Disadvantages: Everything you can possibly think of.

Best advice ever... do NOT take out a contract on VODFAFONE!!

Vodafone can only be described as having the worst customer service from all the networks I've been with... including 3, Orange and O2. Its unethical, despicable and completely disgusting.

This goes for their mobile broadband as well as phone contacts.

Firstly, I tried renewing my contact 12 months ago. The sales rep tried her hardest to trick me into a double contract for the remaining period of my existing contact. This was my first disgusting encounter with the service. I only stayed after complaining straight away about their unethical behaviour and managed to get a good deal. But, as I have found, does NOT outweigh the trauma of the past 12 months to date. This was the worst decision of my life... utter disgusting customer services.

Not only does their system 'not work' when I have gone over my minutes which means I can't check my usage until my bill is received, but whenever I call because of a problem or complaint, their systems are always 'not working' then too. Suspicious? I think so.

Most recently, I considered trying their USB broadband internet as we moved house and couldn't receive usual broadband for a month. The service was slow - fair enough, this was because of my area. I called to return it within the 7 days cooling off period, as the sales rep told me this would mean I wouldn't incur any charges at all.

After being forced to switch to online billing or face charges for paper billing, I have not had time to check my bills due to business commitments. I checked my bill, and found I had been paying for the service for the past 4 months.

I called straight away to encounter the most ridiculous, absurd and overall displeasing service. The rep first tried to tell me I should have called when I posted the item. He then acknowledged vodafone did not log my return and tried telling me it was returned a month after I actually did. Luckily, I found the paper work... his system updated, and it corresponded quite conveniently for him. Then he said I was in the wrong for not telling them sooner. And then he had the audacity to propose he'd "meet me half way" and refund 2 of the four month, asking me if this was satisfactory for something I had never used!! He then tried to fob me off once more and said if the manager deems this to be worthy of a full refund, he'd text me. Only after arguing and being forced to haggle with the service provider, a multi-national company who do not deem wrongful billing as their fault, repetedly telling me it was my responsibility, not theirs, did he say his manager would on this occasion refund the full amount!

So, 1 hour on the phone later, after proving to be extremely annoyed that they asked me if it was ok for them to charge me for something I never had, was this small issue rectified. I cannot believe how ANGRY you have to get before getting what you are entitled to.

Their in store customer service team are not better. My local store tried manipulating my insurance policy so that he could not return my faulty handset as the battery was scratched and so I had to take out a claim to get the problem rectified and pay my premium.

4 faulty phones later, I am still tolerating the despicable service from vodafone. After being with the company for over 2 years, stuck in contracts, I am still baffled with their billing system, probably with the hope of me not spotting any more of their mistakes. Even if I did, they would not accept it is their responsibility to bill me correctly.

Remember, they only send you their 'customer satisfaction after calls service questionnaire' after the rep knows they've done their job properly.... so any statistics they baffle you with, simply DO NOT BELIEVE. Reality speaks for itself.

Summary: DO NOT GO WITH VODAFONE!! AVOID THEM ALWAYS!!!
