Cut my phone off, while still in credit !

Disadvantages: Time wasted
I have been with Vodafone for over 15 years, 10 of which were on contract, the last 5 years on pay as you go. I have had the same phone number for the 15 year duration. Last Friday my car phone display was reading "unregistered sim card". When I contacted Vodafone they said because I had not called out on my phone for 90 days, it had been switched off, despite being in credit ! When I asked to be switched back on again, they said I would have to obtain another sim card, and it would have a new number. I told them I wanted my original number, not a new one, and that they had no right switching my phone off while it was in credit. I have now had to write to head office with my request. I have also sent an E-Mail, but I am not holding my breath for a reply, its now three days, and still no reply ! Judging by my past experiences with Vodafone, I wonder why I have stuck with them for so long. They are the most ignorant people I have ever dealt with. There are plenty more providers, better than Vodafone, their time is running out !
Summary: Go elsewhere.
