About three months ago I got a new PC and decided to shop around for an ISP, Wonkypig caught my eye and I decided to give them a go. As I filled in my online application I was pleasantly surprised, it was simple and well written, - just how I like it!
The problems started when I had set up my account and tried to dial up, unfortunately Wonkypigs website had neglected to mention that you can only access your account from a B.T line, - I'm on NTL.
No problem I thought, I'll simply get a refund and try someone else. Straight away I fired off an email to customer support, and waited......two days later, no reply so I phoned the £1 a minute support line, after queing for 8 minutes I was cut off.
This pattern repeated itself again and again over the next month, until after exactly 1 month wonkypig processed my debit card details again and charged me for another month.
eventually I managed to contact Murphx innovative solutions (Wonkypigs service provider?), Murphx were wonderful, sorted out an apology on wonkypigs behalf, a full refund and cancelled my account, all within one hour.
The only good thing to come out of the whole experience is that I at least have an amusing image in my head of wonkypigs customer support department with hundreds of telephones ringing, email accumulating by the minute and one old man man desperately trying to work his way through queries from last year!
