... picked up one of these from Argos - there was a half price offer where it was at just £24.95 - seemed excellent value. I already have two pairs of Phillips handsets: an Onis Vox 300, and a set so old I don t have the instructions and there s no number on the handsets! BT Synergy 4500 ... have a BT Synergy 4100 Quad in my house and I will be replacing it very soon. It is ok but we have had a few issues with it over then past year. One thing I must say is that I always keep a corded phone in one socket just in case the wireless ones ever stop working. Ok to cut a story short the battery life in each handset has decreased dramatically over time in that before we could keep a handset in one room or on desk for ages but now it is only 1 hour maximum. This is annoying when a call comes through but the phone next to you rings for 1 second then cuts off due to low battery - and then I must run to the other phone (assuming its in its power unit) to answer it.... Panasonic KX-TG8220GB ... is a great looking digital cordless phone which comes in black, red or white. I ve got the black ones. You can buy one for £55 -£80 (depending where you buy it from), a twin pack for £90 plus, or a four pack for £175 or more. The phone charges in about 5 hours from first use and feels and looks like a mobile in your hand. The buttons are generously sized (even Hillcrestsan s chubby man fingers will cope with these) and they are backlit so fumbling for the phone in the dark is also not a problem. BT Mango ... have to say (this is ingoring the colour) this isnt a half bad phone. It has everything you need on a home phone and it has great sound clarity. It was like i was standing next to the person i was talking to and we were having the same conversation. I have to say however, i was less impressed with the styling. The colour looks like they just put cocktail on it and it doesnt really fit in too well with my slighty more rustic house. So if your house has a brownish kind of colour scheme and has a lot of wood, this is probably not the right phone to out in that room but if you dont mind a bit of highlighter orange then this would be the perfect phone for you.
