Advantages: it makes out going calls - most of the time
Disadvantages: lots and lots - speakers terrible, range is terrible
The Binatone Fusion 2210 is by far one of the worst cordless phones I have used, and I've had a few.
I use the phone for my business as it has a built in answer phone facility, which since I've used it, is a little hit and miss.
I'll start at the beginning.
We first bought the Binatone Fusion 2210 phone / answer phone around a year ago because our old cordless phones batteries had died (4 years old no shame to them), we looked at a few different phones but the fusion 2210 was the only one with built in answer phone at the time and to say they weren't cheap is an understatement.
At first they were ok, making calls, inputting numbers into the phones memory all pretty easy to do in seconds. Plenty of features on the handsets as well, so feature wise it was a good phone, but usability and functionality wise its terrible.
There are two phones and one main base transmitter and one small charging station for the other handset. The speakers on the handsets are so bad I have to turn on the loud speaker on some calls and even the loud speaker is so quiet that I have to have the loud speaker on and still put the phone up to my ear. Now I know people will say get a hearing aid, I'm 25 with perfect hearing so it's not me.
Next problem with the phone is when you're in a conversation and there is a noise, say, a bang on a desk, the microphone picks this up and the speaker cuts out, now I'm not sure if this is some sort of feature gone wrong, for instance, to stop back ground noise causing feedback or something similar, I just don't know, but it happens a lot, even when moving my chair or clearing my throat.
I also find with the fusion 2210 that the range of the second handset, IS TERRIBLE. Try and use it anywhere that's not 2ft away from the base unit and the phone cuts off or give a constant ring and wont answer.
A plus side is the batteries last a good while even when you have all the calls on loud speaker, and the battery only takes 10 min on the base charger and the phones back up to full power from dead.
Overall I've not had a great time with these phones and from a business point of view where I need to be on the phone a lot, I wouldn't recommend them.
Summary: not a good set, look at others in the price range, avoid this one.

- 20/03/09 I bought a Binatone speakerphone a few years back, it was ok whilst it worked, but with all the cheap comonents that was not for long, I have avoided binatone ever since. |
