Binatone Trend 2
Advantages: cheap price, does what it says
Disadvantages: has a cord
Binatone is not really a favourite brand of mine but I have had a GPS from them before so I thought atleast it was ok that I'd heard of them. With my internet I had to pay for a landline but I never use my landline as I keep all calls to my mobile phone which is easier for me. However, my internet didn't set up properly so I was told to buy a landline phone to test the line worked. I didn't want to pay a lot so purchased this Binatone Trend 2 LCD phone which isn't anything special but since I had it, I just kept it for use on incoming calls.
The phone is not digital or modern looking but is a plain and simple silver rounded phone that sits on a platform and has a curly silver cable coming out of the end. It has the Binatone logo on the outside earpiece and inside it has number buttons and a few other blue buttons as well as a small digital display to show how long your call is. The base of the phone has a small plastic window which has paper under that you can make a list of your most dialled number on it which is ok but I just never use it.
BINATONE TREND 2 LCD
This phone is not one I experiment a lot with but it surprisingly does have quite a few features on it. The phone has a digital clock on it and it also has an adjustable ringer volume on it. To set the phone up was really easy to do, I plugged it into the phone line and it really worked pretty much right away. When a call comes in it has a very high pitched ring which is quite annoying and not as good as most phones that you can set a piece of music as the tone but it is that loud I never miss a call which is a plus.
The call volume itself is always loud enough but you can adjust this if need be. The fact it times the calls you are on is always good aswell so that you know how long your talking for. The phone has a last number redial button but I never really use this feature as it isn't one I need to use. You can also mute and do recall on this as well and you can set a caller display on it. There are blue buttons on the phone but I just don't find them easy to follow unless you have the manual.
In terms of the phone itself, it is an easy enough basic phone to use and if you don't want a phone for show but just to receive and dial on then this is ok. It is wall mountable if you want it to be aswell but I just keep it on my table in the living room. It doesn't have an answering machine facility which may be disappointing to some but that doesn't really make any difference to me. The phone is reliable and I never have a bad signal on it with it being non cordless.
I do think if you are looking for a phone maybe just for your bedroom to connect phones in the house then this is a good choice. My one downside is that buying this with a cord means I have to sit still in the same place for all of my calls which does annoy me as I normally use cordless phones but I never bought the phone originally for a landline it was just to test it so I see it for the plus side that atleast I now have a landline phone. It does what it says and hasn't had any real problems so far.
If you want to purchase this phone then you can buy it from places like Argos who are currently selling this half price for the bargain cost of £6.99! You really can't complain for that cost.
