I know a phone is a phone is a phone, but I liiike this one!!

Was on the hunt for a new phone for home. Wanted something more modern- digital clarity, two handsets, and answer machine built in preferably. Well.................
It was worse than looking for a mobile!!! I couldn't beleive the choice (or the price). Some sets available were reeeaaally expensive (well i thought so!) After much searching, loads of useless advice (can a help ya cock????) from shop assistants, I finally took the plunge on this one.
It costs approx £60- £70 from most electrical retailers. It is a cordless digital phone, with two handsets- a base with the answering machine, and a second one with it's own little base that needs no phone line to it, just a power socket nearby.
The first thing was that it was really easy to set up. The battery compartments were set up already in the back of the sets- it was literally a case of plugging them in to charge up- great for the techno phobes out there. Setting the time and date etc was very straight forward- the instructions were simple to follow and very clear. So, what about the phone???
It has 5 different melodies, along with 5 volume levels to chose from for both the base set and handset. Up to five handsets can be run from the one base- useful if you have a castle for a home! The phone book stores up to 50 names and numbers, and is easily accessed via the big button- no wading through the menu to find it. Whilst on a call, you have to transfer the call to the other handset, and put the caller through- this means that no-one can listen in to those 'personal' calls by simply picking up the other phone. You can acces the answer machine remotely via a code, and also alter the amount of rings before it kicks in, so set it to 1 ring to screen your calls, to help avoid your mother-in-law! Also, if she actually manages to get through, then you can turn the earpiece volume down too, so you can't hear her!!!!

Finally, I can go for a gossip with the neighbours up the street, take my phone with me (not) to up to 300 metres away, and it will still ring!!!
