Well in my family house we have 2 styles of phones and one of them is this BT Big Button 100, when my dad was around he wanted a telephone that he didn't have to squint at the buttons to see what numbers were what (his eyes were weak) he settled on this phone when one of BT's help line were helping us set up internet and telephone together and proceeded in telling the BT representative that he was having trouble seeing the numbers on the button and before you could say bing bang bosh he was ordering the BT Big Button 100 from them for a reasonable price of £16.99
The BT Big Button 100 is one of the older looking corded telephones but everything is a lot bigger, a lot broader so for all the people who are losing there eye sight they can still see the functions of the telephone, being from the older school of telephones it can take a lot more knocks and bumps before anything would happen unlike some cordless phones that would break on a couple of knocks.
The BT Telephone has the hand set on the left hand side of the unit, it is a sturdy handset with a very nice grip to it so that the handset doesn't slip if your hands get moist, you have your main numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 to the left of the 0 you have Star (button) and on the right the hash/pound (button).
Although this is a corded phone you can answer the phone by simply hitting the green/blue button under the 0 that activates the hands free and all you need to do is talk with a slightly raised voice to be heard by the receiver, there is a "call indicator" that lights up red when you are receiving a phone call or if you have messages waiting to be heard it will constantly flash until they have been dealt with, you have the function of hearing the number of the last person to ring you and it stores the number you last rang.
A really good feature is you can adjust the volume of your phone mic or speaker so that you don't get defend and you don't deafen them, and a better thing is that you can adjust all this during the call.
And a little bit of an extra feature is that you can store up to 13 phone numbers on the phone memory so that those numbers you regularly call can just be 1 button push away.

It is a bit much for this basic phone, but if a friend or a relative of yours needs that extra help this is a great buy
Final thought
A large button telephone great for the elder folk or the hard of seeing for that matter, it just helps that little bit more with the day to day life and helps them stay in touch with loved ones.
Summary: great for the people who are losing their sight.
