Advantages: Looks good, cheap, Great phone features
Disadvantages: N/A
After our new puppy chewed our previous phone, we were in the market for a replacement. As our track record with phones isn't great, we wanted a reasonable cheap model - and so picked up The BT Graphite Single Dect Phone for £19.99 in Asda
Whilst we only wanted a single handset, you can get up to 4 handsets in the range, plus theres also the option of an answerphone.
The phone was simple to set up - obviously the base needs to be near a power-point and a phone socket so the phone can be connected, but once they are plugged in, and the rechargeable batteries supplied are inserted into the handset, it was just a case of leaving the phone in the base unit to charge (to fully charge took about 8hrs).
The base unit of the phone is a small circular disc, in which the handset sits in the middle. The base includes a paging button for when the handset has been misplaced - and when pressed the handset emits a loud beeping noise to give away its hiding position.
The handset is quite weighty, and solid - and nothing about the phone gives away the fact that it is a budget option phone
Key Features of the phone
This phone only uses half the energy compared to other standard home phones - so its an enviromentally friendly option
It has 100hr of standby time, and 10hrs of talk time
A range of 50m indoors, we've wandered all over the house and garden whilst on the phone, and its reception or clarity has never been an issue
The phone memory can store up to 50 numbers, and 10 last number redials.
Caller Id - allows you to see who calling before you answer
Handsfree - much like a mobile, allows you to talk without having to hold the handset
Summary: A good budget cordless phone

- 25/02/09 The LCD screen is not actually all that clear - it would help if it was backlit. You can see OK as long as you're in a well lit room.
Digital quality of call (listening or talking) is fab, no echoing even from the bottom of the garden - and conversations are loud and clear |

- 25/02/09 Welcome to Dooyoo. A very good review here - would be handy to know if the LCD screen is clear and easy to see as well as the digital quality of actually listening or talking - if it echoes or fades or not at all, its well worth knowing for future buyers. |
