To BT or not to BT (BT Mango Twin)

Advantages: Look nice, easy to use

Disadvantages: Bad slider falses battery cover off, signal drops, screen display

I like stylish things. Call me vein, but I love my Mac styling and the peripherals often look the part too. When it came to buying a home phone, I was replacing a BT Calypso with a dodgy '3' key, so was in two minds whether or not to buy BT again.

Anyway, this twin pack came up on BT Shop about six months ago, on offer, around £49, so I thought OK, looks nice, simple styling, answer phone, two handsets, give it a go.

The good;
They are very compact, nice slider action, so the keypad remains hidden when not in use. Battery life of the base is good too. Voices sound clear, very crisp. They are also extremely easy to use.

The bad;
When you slide them to reveal the number pad, if you are holding the wrong part of the handset, the battery cover comes off. The range is also not that good. It might be that my computer wireless devices are interfering, but never the less, the phone loses signal mid-conversation at least once a week which is very annoying.

The ugly;
The second handset does not display anything on the screen. Unless you pick it up and push a button. So you cannot see who is calling, or the time. Very bad.

So, now I have learned my lesson. Next time I will not purchase a BT phone and look at Panasonic or Philips.
