BT Studio 4100
Advantages: Easy and simple to use, very clear, comfy to hold, good reception
Disadvantages: None from me
When our old landline telephone started to play up we knew that we were on borrowed time with it. I am not one for massive amounts of modern technology, my other half wanted us to have an all singing, all dancing machine where I was happy to just have a simple hands free phone! We had a look around a number of different places as well as browsing the internet and in the end we opted for the BT Studio 4100, this phone looked and read as if it would be simple enough for me to use but at the same time it was also a device that my other half was ok with (Not that he ever uses the phone!) Here are my thoughts on the model.
As I mentioned I looked around for some time and in the end we brought the phone from Argos, it cost around the £20.00 mark and this seemed to be the price no matter where you got it from. This seemed a good low price for the phone and whilst it does not have an answer machine built into it, we have BT as our provider so we were happy that the 1571 service allowed us not to need to look for a handset with on fitted. Available from places like Amazon as well as electrical retailers, this was quit e a widely available phone.
The phone came well packed and with a good instruction booklet, there was a lot of information, all of which I made sure I had a read of, there was also a one year manufacturer's guarantee. As soon as we unpacked the phone we put it onto charge, the phone sits well in the docking station and there is a click that you hear that indicates it is in the correct position. The phone itself is a silver chrome handset and the dock is also a similar colour. The cordless phone will need 2 AAA batteries for it to work and once charged you are ready to start using it.
The handset is quite lightweight and it is also comfy when you are talking on the phone for any amount of time. The buttons are quite large and easy to press and the writing on these is white and it stands out well. There are all the buttons you would expect to see, the answer on and off as well as all the numbers. There are a small number of features that comes with this phone; these include ones such as volume control and ringing options. We have just a regular ring and we can usually hear it no matter where we are in the house. There are also a 50 names and number memory which have proven to be really useful so we don't have to keep getting peoples numbers from our mobile when we call them. There is a caller display that appears, again really useful.
There are a couple of other features that come with the phone, these include a clock that is visible on the display screen of the phone, and then you can also press a button that allows the handset to bleep when you can't find it! I think that with all of the features that I have mentioned above, I really believe that this is an excellent value for money product, it really does impress!
Having been using the phone for a couple of months now I find that the phone is really easy to use and is also really clear, when I have used the phone outside there is still a strong signal and it is just as clear. I have nothing other than positive comments for the phone and I will keep coming back to the fact that it was a really good price.
In summary, as I am sure you have already guessed I think that this is a good purchase and although there is no answer machine, it is a good handset. The charge also lasts all day so we just let it charge over night and then it's good to go all day long. With a good number of features this really is a good buy.
5 out of 5 from me
