BT Studio 3100 ... BT Studio 3100 handsets - better than my last ones! I ve had these handsets for about a year now and I am quite pleased with them. Although there are some limitations to their features for the price (£14.99 in Tesco s) I feel they have been great. ~~~Appearance~~~ Both handsets and bases are light silver in colour with a darker silver/grey shade buttons. All buttons have white writting/digits so they do stand out well. The handsets have a LCD display that you can set the time to be displayed constantly, along with battery power & signal symbols to show energy and strength. Binatone iDect X1i ... started to charge for their 1571 answer service, the free service not being free if you were no longer using BT for your calls. So I canceled the service and went shopping for a telephone with inbuilt ansaphone. I ended up with the iDECT x1i digital cordless telephone with answering machine. I paid £19.99 in Robert Dyas. I only needed one phone but there are other packages with 2 or 3 or 4 handsets. The phone was very easy to install I just had to install two batteries , (included), into the handset and do the first charge- they recommend fifteen hours- but it took nowhere near as long as that. Siemens Gigaset AL180 ... telephones in recent times have started to make a come back - or so it would appear for the John Lewis store in Edinburgh who always seem to be out of constant stock of their cheapest BT handset! I was one of very many buyers recently who have signed up for a year of cheaper Internet and phone calls from a certain company that justified looking for a basic phone rather than something I d pay over the odds for.
