We wanted a really cheap basic handset for our bedroom and this one fitted the bill. We were happy with a corded phone as we wanted it to stay in the bedroom with us. This would save us having to go downstairs if we were in bed and someone rang. The phone is cheap, basic and good quality.
The handset can be bought for a very reasonable £13.00. It is sold in electronic stores and from online retailers such as Amazon. We bought it a few years ago now and I am surprised to see that the price has remained the same and that the design is exactly the same.
The phone we have is black. It has a black base and a black handle. It is slim in design and does not take up too much room on the bedroom table. It has a curly cord linking the handset to the phone, this is quite short in length and sometimes if I need to use the phone I pull the base over and sit it on my knee whilst in bed. The handset is stored on my husband's side of the bed and there is certainly not enough to pull across the bed. The buttons are large and easy to press with an audible little click when you hit them ensuring that you know which button you have pushed.
The phone is sturdy, well made and has coped well with being dropped on the floor. It has a loud ring to it and the line is clear with the caller's voice being loud and crisp.
I tend to use this phone to call my children or my friends in the evening and take advantage of free evening calls. I quite like using the phone as it is really clear reception and it sounds loud. The handset is comfortable to hold and grip and if I want to, I can hold it with the side of my face to keep my hands free. I guess the phone would be classed as old fashioned by today's standards, but it is a good quality little piece and it works well. I never encountered any problems with the phone at all. If you want to, you can mount it on a wall and have the phone vertical. We have ours loose on the bedside table so we have the freedom to move it. The phone is quick to set up when you take it out of the box, all you need to do is plug it in, connect it to the phone line jack with the wire provided and then lift the receiver to check for a dial tone.
I am certainly very happy with the phone. These corded phones are usually a little bit more reliable than the modern cordless phones and all we wanted it to do was make calls with minimum fuss. It certainly performs well in this aspect so for this reason it comes highly recommended.
This is a gem of a phone i have been using it for the last year and its very comfortable to use and hardwearing
The buttons are enlarged and works well for people who have fat fingers.
The phone itself has the usual digital services available and the price at the moment is also very good
The phone is made from hard plastic and coloured silver i have used this phone for over an hour at at time and not found any discomfort or heating up of the head.
The phone has taken a lot of a abuse being dropped kicked and slammed down by my teenage daughters and still is working very well.
The sound quality is also pretty good not as great as other more expensive phones but with this price who can argue
In conclusion this phone has ben a great secondary phone and works well. The handset is tough and there are no parts that could break off and cause an issue with small children.
The handset is well designed and fits into the hand and placed next to the ear is very comfortable.
This phone represents great value for money and is something i would put on my christmas list if and when e ned a new phone
