I bought my D811 three years ago, so it's quite old, however I don't use it very much. It looks great perched on the side with it's smooth polished finish.
However I have found that it uses quite a lot of power for such a small telephone - even with the power saving mode on, the screen on the phone is always illuminated. The batteries are now completely screwed and the handset only holds enough charge for about a 20 minute call.
Annoyingly the handset developed faults a while ago and now it randomly shuts off during a call sometimes requiring removal of the batteries to reset it. Unfortunately there is no way to put it back to factory settings.
Overall I would say that like most Motorola stuff the look took precedence over the quality of the equipment itself. In my opinion a phone should last longer than 3 years before needing to be replaced
