We had an Amstrad E-mailer phone, but when (2 weeks after the warranty was over) the screen went blank. Not fixable! So, a decent phone had to be purchased, and why not a cordless one?

Performance & Specs
-------------------
This phone has a range of 50 Metres indoors, and 300 Metres Outside. This is nice, because I can use it in the garden in summer time. The phone is really two phones, it has a base station which can be used for making calls on. The base station is also the answer machine. Except for answer machine buttons on the base station (and numbers) it is primarily operated remotely from the handset. The answer machine is available by remote access, this means you can call from any tone phone, put in your code, and listen to messages - delete messages etc. Both handset and base station have desk-top handsfree.

The handset has a selection of three back-light colours (Red, Orange and Green.) It also has a wide selection of ring tones (jingle bells was used at Christmas last year!).

The speech quality is outstanding, and there is an alarm for when you go out of range.

The only problem I have encountered with the phone, is the handset batteries are not Panasonic. They are some green things, that say they're fully charged when they are not. The phone sometimes turns itself off when the batteries are 'fully charged?' That said, it is definitely a good purchase, you just need buy a better set of rechargeables.
