      Does the job admirably

Well, this was a review I lost due to dooyoo gremlins in the works. Just my luck that it was a brilliant review and is now lost for ever - taught me the valuable lesson of preparing reviews offline and then doing a bit of cutting and pasting.

Anyway here's a quick replacement review:

I like this because it isn't too complicated - the menus are easy to understand and navigate and although the instruction book is as thick as most, it's actually very user friendly and it's easy to learn the basics.

There are a good selection of ring tones which you can change to have a range of sounds around your various handsets. The monitor is good. The sound is clear and of particular importance to us, as we are out a lot, is the ability to dial in to pick up your messages. We use this a lot and it has worked a treat every time. There is also quite a range of functions which can be performed remotely giving you the important benefit of not missing out on or actioning your messages.

The handsets and base unit are robustly constructed. There is just a bit of wear now after a few years around the button area - which is to be expected really. Another big benefit is the range - was using a handset at the top of a ladder at the bottom of the garden yesterday - a good 40 metres away and the signal was as clear as a bell. If you see one of these around second-hand, then go for it. It has proven reliable and we have had no issues with it whatsoever.
