“ Panasonic KX TG9140 - Cordless phone w/ answering system & caller ID - DECTGAP - with wireless camera with human detection sensor „
Moving into a new house requires many things, ranging from the needlessly mundane to more exotic items like um... a set of rolling pins. One of the curious items to buy is a telephone, you may think it is a spurious matter of any old Bakelite but it really was a stressful time. The list of requirements ranged from a speaker that emitted an audible noise, I have experienced too many phones with such a terrible sound level that I started wearing a raincoat for fear of getting wet down in the well, and interestingly enough wireless connection.
This Panasonic was one which my uncle owned, though he had complained about the phone reception it was assumed their own telephone line; they did admittedly live in the middle of nowhere, but however he was highly praising in its robustness. As I was moving into a new house for the first time, budget had become a concern and this appeared to be a great offer (around £15 on sale).
So I snapped up the offer and attached it up to the telephone line, eagerly awaiting any loving phone call. It was to my great disappointment to find that the signal was very poor, I live in Belfast which is by no means a back water, the audio has continued over the last few months to be particularly unimpressive.
Overall I would say it has been a good quality design, nothing flimsy, and true the wireless system is a great positive but the audio level has really been too low.
