Advantages: good set of phones
We have had these phones for a good few years now and I can't understand why I haven't reviewed them sooner. They have been our longest lasting phones to date and are still going strong. We bought them from Argos if I remember correctly (well we do seem to buy everything electrical from there as its so easy to take back should something go wrong). And I remember thinking there were not too expensive at around the £80 price region.
What you get for your money should you choose to purchase these three phones, although I am sure there is bound to be a newer more advanced model since when we bought these is a set of three phones with a built in answer machine. The phones are cordless and they sit in a cradle which needs to be plugged into a power socket. Only one of the three phones needs to be attached to a phone socket and this is the one with the largest base unit.
The phones come with a very large instruction manual which I can't say I have ever really looked through because not only it is rather thick and complicated looking but I found the whole set up of the phone system really very simple and the phone book set up is so easy to do a 5 year old could do it.
The phones not only look good but are super sturdy as well because both myself and my 5 year old are pretty clumsy and I can say that I have dropped the phone onto the hard floor on more than a dozen occasions and so has my son and this hasn't seemed to affect the phone in any way.
There is a massive storage capacity of the phones and you can have up to 200 names and numbers stored but I can't say I have any more than 50 (and a lot of these are takeaways and local businesses! Mrs popular I am!) Not only that but there are a whole load of different annoying ringtones to choose from and some are just far too digital sounding and I really only like the basic ring ring sound of a telephone. You can't do anything like assign a ringtone to a particular person like you can on the latest models or indeed a mobile phone but I like the surprise of looking at the phone to see whose ringing or heaven forbid its a number I don't know - the excitement gets too much!
The answer phone is pretty straight forward and the buttons on the front of the base unit are clear and easy to follow. The system has a good storage for voice messages as well and I never really have to delete them in order to have enough space.
The one thing that I have always had trouble with when using previous house phones such as these is the battery life of each phone. They seemed to run out pretty quick and even when they were in charge all day seemed to burn out quickly if left out for a short period. These phones however seem to keep the battery life well and there is a charge cut off that when the phone is fully charged even if you keep it in the base unit it will stop charging and therefore you won't run the ris of overcharging the phone and thus not nuking your battery life.
I get a good amount of talk time from the battery power and I can't say that in all the time I have had them that the phone has ever cut out from lack of battery. The signal is always clear and the distance I can walk away from the base unit is pretty good as I am able to go out and water the whole garden whilst listening to mum chat away and the line doesn't cut out at all - mores the pity!
Overall I have to say that these phones are certainly doing Panasonic and myself proud. The price I paid for 3 phones and a answer phone is certainly a good one in my opinion and the fact that they are simple to use and operate makes them even more appealing as I don't want something too complicated for a house phone that doesn't really get used that much. The battery life is good as is the storage for numbers and voice calls. The button which will help you locate the phone if it is not in the base unit is very handy for when my little boy picks the phone up and hides it some place you can locate it with the beeping noise.
All in all I can't fault the phones. They are going strong still whilst still looking good too. I think I can easily give them a top score of 5 out of 5 stars and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
