Advantages: Excellent Reception, Built in Answer Phone
Disadvantages: Takes time to set up
I bought the Tripple Philips CD145 Phone in Black. I bought these phones about 4 months ago and have been really impressed.
They are really easy to use and also to set up. The sound quality and the reception are exceptional, I have not had any interference with mine. I only have one Telephone point and so this make it ideal as the Main base set is the only one which needs to be connected, the other two simply need plug sockets, ideal to place anywhere around the home.
The Keys are large enough not to mis-dial and the screen is large enough to see the numbers dialed. The screen will also display different icons, ie: envelope - indicates you have voicemail messages a key - keypad is locked and a musical note - shows that the ringer is turned off. You have two options when dialing a number, input the numbers required and then press the talk button or press the talk button and then enter the numbers. There is a phonebook which is easy to access and you can store 19 numbers. There is also a redial list which is a great, the phone will store the last 5 numbers which have been dialled . You simply press the redial button until you get to the phone number you require. A call timer is also visible to let you know how long you have been chatting.
This phone also boasts several other options like making a second call whilst still on the first, making an internal call (kitchen to bedroom etc handsets). You can press mute, adjust the ring volume, ring tone and earpiece volume. If like me your children are permanently wanting to play with the phone you can simply lock the keys so numbers can be dialled.
The manual is a little bit long winded, but after reading it once or twice it does make sense. Also has a built in answer machine, which i have not used yet, but the manual does explain clearly how to use it. A great buy for the price.
Good points aside for a second though, if you are using a phone extension or a Microfilter with this phone I have found that upon receiving a call the caller is not always able to hear you, likewise when making a call. This phone ideally needs to be plugged straight into the phone line with additional wires/attachments connected.
For the price this phone is still a winner.
Summary: Great phone with two additional handsets to be placed around the house, Never miss a call again.
