Enough to put you off Philips

I would never buy another Philips Dect phone. Since we have bought our dual set, we have not been happy with it. At first, it was simply a matter of battery life. We would take the phone off the hook at full battery power, make a call and after forty-five minutes, the battery would be irritatingly bleeping because it has almost run out.

Since, however, the problem has become worse. One of the two phones no longer rings or displays Caller ID and the sound when answering a call is extremely muffled. So we now have to carry one phone around the house with us, which beats the object of the 'Duo' idea. And of course, with that phone off the hook for long periods of time, the battery life is an annoying factor.

The Caller Display is the only good thing about this phone, which also has a poor choice of ringtones, a small non-colour screen, making navigating menus awkward, room for very few contacts and no joint list of contacts (you have to programme them individually on each phone).

We are now looking for a new DECT phone and it won't be a Philips!
