Advantages: Colour screen looks impressive, good quality answer machine, user friendly
Disadvantages: Problematic, occasional noise on the phones
I have owned the Philips DECT 627 for just over a year which I originally purchased as 3-pack.
The phones were set-up straight out of the box and the phones initially seemed to function properly. After a few months use, however, I started to notice a number of problems.
The phones occasionally make a loud squeaky noise at the start of calls and make static noises down the line. They also tend to start ringing one or two rings after what the person on the other side hears. Sometimes the ringing speaker would cut out on one of the phone whilst the other two would ring, or after a call was answered the phone would ring once more.
The features of the phone are pretty good (including alarm clock, phonebook - with personalised ringtones for different contacts, SMS, caller ID and a choice of ringtones - most I'd never use - and 4 wallpapers) and it's easy to use - the menu is in a similar style to old Nokia menus. The colour display on the phones is quite small and doesn't really compare to the clarity of those on mobiles.
The phone also offers an intercom feature which allows you to call and transfer calls between the phones. The digital answer machine is good and offers 15 minutes of space which is enough for me. An annoying feature it has is that messages can only be checked through the actual machine and not through the phones.
The phone uses DECT technology, which apparently improves the signal quality and makes them more secure. The 300m range is excellent in my house and the phones work fine all around the house and even at the end of the garden.
Overall the phone is well-featured, easy to use and works well when they function properly, but is overall quite problematic.
Summary: Well-featured stylish phone with a good answer machine but with problems
