“ Philips Kala 300 DUO - Cordless phone w/ call waiting caller ID - DECTGAP - single-line operation + 1 additional handset(s) „
Although my family have lived in such a large house with one landline telephone for many years, I thought it could be handy to have a handset upstairs also and began looking for a twin set of cordless phones. I chose the Kala 300 from Philips. I bought them online and they arrived promptly and were a doddle to set up. The main unit is situated in the downstairs hallway and is the phone with the features.
I found this set really easy to operate and the range is very good for a cordless phone. The phones have a good battery life and i find the handsfree feature very useful if I find the phone ringing when I arrive home from the shops. The speaker isnt very loud, though, so you are limited as to how far you venture when using this facility, although the handsets themselves offer very clear sound clarity. The phones have a bright LED scrolling screen but I find that I often mistake the '0' for an '8'. The capacity for storing friends and family numbers is sufficient and the ability to group contacts together is also handy. Overall, these phones are not the greatest looking or have the best features. There are much more feature packed phones around, but for the price I paid at the time they were a worthwhile purchase. I dont think they are any longer available to buy, which suggests they must be outdated, the features certainly reflect this.
