This is a terrible machine. I bought it to run a small business, and to avoid the necessity of have a separate line for the fax machine.

Problems:

1) There is the facility to store 10 quick dial numbers, and remember 250 other numbers. It is an irritating procedure to access them. BUT worst of all the 10 quick dials cannot be selected from the 250 other numbers. They have to be programmed separately, and have different names.

2) Connection to an external answering machine causes problems especially if you have BT call minder.

3) Service from Philips is poor.

4) I switched it off once and that caused a software fault which meant it had to go to the service centre, and it came back without a cable.

If you switch it off you have to re programme the time and date... Why is there no facility for a battery back up?

5) I hate it. But if YOU want to buy one, make sure you get it with an internal answering machine, if you need that function. Better yet just get in an extra line and a proper fax machine.

6) The lead to the telephone handset is too short.
