Advantages: Good sound and lots of features

Disadvantages: Fiddly to turn the ringers off

I was so fed up with the buzzing and crackling on my cordless phone that I decided to buy a digital cordless phone.

I decided on the Philips 6311 as it incorporates an answerphone, the recall service and a comprehensive phone book.

It was easy to set up and both the handset and the base have separate ringers which can be set to Loud, Soft or Off. The machine is fairly easy to use, although I find it a pain that you have to go through the menu to turn the ringers off, which is a bit of a fiddle.

A major advantage of this phone is that you can have additional handsets tuned in to the base phone which don't need to be plugged into a telephone socket, just a mains plug. This is a really handy feature, as you can station it wherever you are, and it still has the answerphone etc and other features of the base phone.

The sound quality is excellent, it has a loudspeaker and a volume adjustment on the handset. The phone can be left off the base for very long periods of time, with no loss of quality.

I am very pleased with this phone and recommend it.
