Advantages: Cordless, cheap, small
Disadvantages: Incoming volume levels vary
Following the installment of an upstairs telephone line I decide to purchase this Philips model telephone. Its very similar to my other phone, so I was confident that I could learn how to operate it quickly.
The first thing to note about this telephone is that it is chordless. I can't stand the restrictions that you get with a normal phone, so this chordless option was the obvious choice. Indeed the phone appears to work correctly at any point in the house and even in the front and back garden. Very handy, if you are in the middle of a task and want to get back to it.
The phone comes with a handset and a docking station, where the phone should sit when not in use. When leaving it here the phone will automatically charge up. When fully charged the phone can be lefgt of its dock for about three. Nice to know, but I never intend to make a phone call that long.
The controls on the phone are fairly standard, with the number pad at the bottom and list of further option at the top. These include the answer and hang up buttons, a menu button and a redial feature. Within the menu you are able to store up to 100 numbers, which is plenty for me. You are also able to adjust the phones settings, such as volume, pin number, etc.
Back to the number keys, they are well spaced out and easy to press down. They do not require too much force, nor are they too fiddly. The ring volume is loud and I can hear the telepphone from any place on the floor.
The one problem I do have with this phone is hearing people on the other end of the line. I have all of the phones volume settings on maximum, but I will struggle to hear certain callers. Its strange and rather annoying. Why should it vary from caller to caller.
Finally, the phone is finishes in a sleek black colour and looks very good. It is small enough so that it doesn't stand out too much.
All in all a stylish little phone, which I am reasonably happy with. I brought it for £22.99. I give it three out of five Dooyoo stars.
