... both on the handset and on the base station. It also has a much larger 'phonebook' at 100 entries (the AudioLine only had 10). What's Good The shape and physical design/weight are very nice. Buttons are OK Phonebook is pretty easy to use and enter new numbers, I have even used the 'voice dial' feature which works if you are the only person using it. What's Not Slow response on Menu system. No 'Mute Microphone' facility - this is vital if you are on 'conference' calls - ...more

Why I Bought This Phone I work from home, and spend a lot of my time each day on the phone. I use a Headset to minimise back/neck strain and enable me to type while I talk. My calls are normaly one-to-one but each week I also take part in a number of 'conference' type calls with my colleagues. What I was looking For Consequently, when I upgraded from the very functional AudioLine DECT 4055 product, I was looking for something that would be even better. Premium Review Philips Zenia 6626: Good functions but shame about the poor handset sound (230 words)
by - written on 15/07/01 (Useful, 1143 readings)

I bought this phone to replace a standard cordless phone/answerphone. My primary requirement was for a cordless system with a reasonable memory of Caller Line Identification numbers and a small & stylish appearance. The phone has all the functions that I want and the CLI function works well in tandem with the phone memory to display the number & name (if stored in the phonebook) of callers. The answering machine works well and is very clear if used from the base station. The one gripe is that it does not seem possible to mute the answer machine. However the handset sound is poor with little or no adjustment for volume. basically is does not go loud ...  Read the complete review
