Advantages: DECT, quality, good looks

Disadvantages: Calls can be a bit quiet

I first saw this little phone when I was browsing on the Dixons website. Since then, I have had it for about three months, and there is nothing whatsoever wrong with it!

As soon as i opened the box, all there was to do was plug 2 wires into the wall and to the bottom of the base unit and connect a battery to the handset (which was a bit of a pain as the battery is so small!). The handset is extremely easy to use - with a cool flip design like samsung's mobile phones. The phone has extremely good call quality, but sometimes is a bit quiet even on max volume. The phone comes with a useful handsfree kit, which is also extremely easy to use and plugs into the side of the phone.

The phone actually has all the features that you will need-

- DECT digital technology which gives amazing call quality

- 70 name and number phone book

- handsfree kit

- illuminated graphic display, giving you information on base signal strength and battery strength

- Vibration alert

- caller ID (CLIP)

The only problems I have (or maybe it's just me being annoying) is that you either have to choose the phone to ring or vibrate - you can't have both unless it vibrates 3 times then rings and the other thing is that the base station doesn't ring!

UPDATE 24/03/2004

Finally, I have stopped using this phone. It was good, however, because the base station didn't ring, it was extremely annoying. The phone has also decided to stop working, and loses connection to the base all the time, and you can't even pick up the phone. I have a much older, (and cheaper) BT DECT phone, and is still going strong. Although it looks good, I don't recommend anyone buying a phone just on its looks. The phone also had a very short battery life from the start, and now only lasts 18 minutes on a phone call, and about half an hour standby. This is extremely poor, considering I follow
ed the manufacturers instructions on care about the battery all the time.
