Express Review on Synergy series
by Bill Green - written on 16/02/08
Rating:

The one thing I like about the Synergy 2150 is the fact that it has call barring and can be programmed not to ring out certain numbers e.g. 07etc., 09etc., etc. Useful for helping to keep the expense of dialling out mobiles and premium calls. If I upgrade, does anyone out there know of another phone with this call barring feature built in? The Synergy 4100 has no such feature..
If someone knows of one I'd appreciate an e-mail to Will@ttad.co.uk Regards. Bill Green

Premium Review Cordless phone system with range (923 words)

Rating:

The Synergy 2150 is a cordless digital phone system that allows up to 5 handsets to be used with the one base station without the need for any additional wiring. We have had our system (with just the 1 handset) for approximately 3 years. It was bought for us as a gift after our previous answering machine threw its legs in the air and popped its mortal coil. The handset has a 3-row LCD display and keypad and has a “cordless” connection to the base station so that it can be used remotely. The Base Station plugs into the telephone socket, is mains powered and is used to house the handset and re-charge its battery. Our phone is in constant ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Synergy series: BT Synergy 2150 (289 words)

I purchased a BT Synergy 2150 twin in November 2002 thinking I'd pay for quality and therefore make a long term investment in a phone that would last me for years to come - how wrong my logic proved to be! Initially I was very impressed - small tidy design that took up so little space it was hard to believe it was an answering machine too. But then not much after a month my second handset start to receive interference. It sounded like a loose connection with the actual socket was the problem however the other handset worked perfectly. I tried the Synergy line and they asked me to reset it and because the problem was intermittent it was difficult to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Small, but here IS better! (221 words)

These are made by the same people who make the NTL 4xxx series of phones, they're reasonably made but lack some decent features. Firstly they feel quite flimsy, not too much to get hold of and can be quite confusing to use if you've not had a DECT before, the ringtone choice is very limited and they get quite annoying after a while, they're nice and cheap though at around £100 for a twin set with ans machine so you can't really expect much more. They're quite reliable and are easy to get batteries/additional handsets for although its best to buy a twin set from the word go to get a discount on what you pay. For the money ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Synergy series: Not a phone for blondes IMPORTANT UPDATE (1817 words)

This opinion is about the Synergy 2150. Firstly, my partner dropped the phone and broke it and then my old answer machine packed up in sympathy. We found an old phone in the attic to plug in until I could get to the shops to replace the broken article, but it didn?t have the touch tones that various helpdesks recognise. More importantly BT 1571 answering service couldn?t understand what we wanted to do and so we had trouble listening to and deleting messages. I usually only use this as a back up answering service for when I am on-line. So what did I want from a new phone? The only definite requirement was for it to be touch tone, but I had a secret ...  Read the complete review
