It's not often that you see a fully functioning phone on sale for less than £4 - but the Tesco TH150 Slimline Gondola LCD is just that. The phone was purchased by me as an internet phone - connected to the Home Hub in order to make the most of BT's free Internet evening and weekend calls. Seeing as the audio quality of calls over broadband isn't of the highest quality, I wasn't really bothered about buying an expensive or designer looking device - I've got one of those connected to the main phone line.

The TH150 is described as being silver in colour, and whilst you may think that a silver phone may appear somewhat tacky, the colour is really more of a grey shade, and doesn't look too bad.

The phone is comfortable to hold, and although it has a rather plasticky feel, it's definitely a better made product than its ridiculously low price tag would suggest. The numerical keypad features the standard 'last number redial', 'mute' and 'recall' facilities, and the keys themselves are rubbery and easy to press. Above the numbers is a small LCD screen where you can see what you have typed in.

Sound Quality

As I mentioned previously, the sound quality wasn't an important consideration when buying this phone - however, it's actually very good. Both the ringer and the earpiece volume is loud enough, and when connected to the main phone line, listening to someone speaking is very clear.

With an eleven number memory and adjustable ring volume, the Tesco TH150 Slimline Gondola LCD is a fantastic phone, and I can't believe it can be sold so cheaply. Highly Recommended in this difficult economic climate.

Oh, and it's also wall mountable!
