Advantages: Looks great, very easy to install, easy to use and it'll make your friends jealous!
Disadvantages: Not cordless and can't be used with Virgin Media.
My old telephone was 'retro' in a bad way - it was so old it didn't work and the wires kept tangling. Luckily I had a Firebox.com voucher so I treated myself to a brilliant red ScandiPhone.
It's so easy to use - just plug it in and you can instantly call all your friends to brag about your fabulous new phone! No more fumbling for the receiver, with the ScandiPhone you just grab and gab!! And if you're bored you can use it to pretend you're flying a plane!
It uses push buttons for dialling, has a comfortable shape to hold (once you get used to it) and you can put it on silent if you don't want to be disturbed. You can also set it to pulse or tone.
According to Firebox you can't use the ScandiPhone with Virgin Media. I'm currently with BT and haven't had any problems. The sound quality is fine and the ring is loud enough for me to hear from upstairs but not so loud that it deafens me if I'm sat next to it. And it doesn't seem to start the dog barking either!
My one piece of criticism is that I find it very easy to accidentally catch the hang-up button on the bottom while I'm chatting but that could just be due to the way I sit while I'm gossiping!
It's not cordless but I think the cable is long enough if you want to dance to the daft holding music that some companies have!
It doesn't have all the 'high-tech' features of modern phones like the silent button but it does have a redial button and it's fine to use for automated services.
It's unusual, eye-catching and will start conversations when you have visitors.
Summary: Stylish, retro and easy to use.
