Advantages: Beautiful, classic design

Disadvantages: Basic

I love the ScandiPhone!

It is based on the original 1950's Ericofon, designed by Ericsson, sound familiar? Yes the same Ericsson that make our mobile phones! This gorgeous phone was the product that launched his company... and you can see why. This orginal design is actually on display in the NY Museum of Modern Art, this just confirms its place among modern design classics. Classic Ericofons will cost you £120 plus!

My ScandiPhone is the limited Chrome phone... limited because this colour is now discontinued, although you can still buy them out there. It retails at £49.95, the coloured ones are £39.95, colours available are brilliant red, glossy black, stark white & bright orange.

The ring is a gorgeous original sounding chirrup (adorable!), it has a good volume level, and as the noise is quite recognisable you won't think its something else if you are in a different room.

Push buttons (original was rotary dial) make it easy to call the bank & get your messages etc... word of warning though, don't pop the phone down to get a pen - you'll cut off the caller as the big red button on the bottom cuts of your calls!

I have Post Office broadband and the phone works fine, although apparently not with Virgin Media. It is a pretty basic design, so it wouldn't surprise me, all the fun is in the design and colour!

Everyone who see it comments on its slick design and funky colour.

Summary: For the design minded among us, its a must-have

At last - someone who can spell Ericsson! I remember these from the 1st time round (whoops, "Old Git Alert"!) and I do remember cutting people off. All it needed was a lapse of concentration and the dreaded words "Hang on, I'll just put the phone dow.....CLICK!" Wonder why it won't work on Virgin Cable.
