Advantages: Features, price

Disadvantages: Sometimes fiddly to set up

This was my first telescope as a very amateur astronomer. It has three magnifying lenses for observing objects at various distances and a Barlow lens providing an extra 3.3x magnification on top. All lenses include a cap, as well as a cap for the telescope itself.

Also included is a right-angle adapter (as shown in the picture), a laser starfinder and an attachment that can be used to project an image of the sun to save you from trying to look at it, which is an incredibly bad idea! This makes it great for observing solar eclipses.

The tripod is solid, allowing a good range of heights. It can sometimes be a bit tricky to keep the telescope body stable, and the nuts need to be tightened quite a lot.

I've used it for casual observation and also for various eclipses and meteor showers. Living in a city is a bit of a problem so I have to pick my nights carefully to avoid light pollution.

Summary: Decent entry-level telescope
