My bargain buy last month was this sleek little number from Comet. I had come into a bit of a windfall ( well compensation for my accident - 3yrs ago!!) and decided to treat myself and family to a new TV. Our old faithful was really on the way out and I knew it wouldn t cope with the new switch over heading to our area soon. Sony KDL-46S2530U ... bought this TV December 2007, and it has been an excellent buy. The TV itself is HD ready, which means that it only goes up to 1080i. Even though it is not full HD the quality is not bad, the colour ratios are a bit low compared to new TV s, however then again this TV is over two years old now. At first when I used the TV the colours did not look right but after doing some tweaks with the settings, the TV gives out excellent picture after you have set it up to the right colour, brightness and contrast ratios. But as the TV has a low ratio it does mean that from close up the TV picture quality does not look as good, so it is only good to watch from a distance. The T... Sony KDL-40W5500 ... are just about the top of the league when it comes to audovisual fare. The Sony KDL40W5500 accordingly costs a pretty penny although if you know where to go it can be had for a pretty reasonable cost compared to lesser rivals. The set may look pretty but there are prettier rivals. The picture, when used with your own digital service or DVD, is pretty good with sharp colours and clear images. The sound is clear and distinct. I would recommend that you hang this set well out of the way since the screen easily picks up smudges from little fingers and pens/pencils can easily damage the rather fragile screen.
