Bush 40 Inch Full HD 1080p Freeview LCD TV
by NotMyToothbrush
I usually avoid Bush products following bad experiences in the past. However, for the price of this 40" 3D TV, I thought I would give Bush another chance. I am glad I did.
3D TVs, although they are going down in price, are still relatively expensive in relation to non-3D models. However, this TV competes very well. Many ... of you may be thinking that the reason of the low price could be poor quality, although you would be wrong. The TV produces excellent picture quality - the colours are vibrant and the image clear.
Now I am not much of a sound person, I am pretty happy with almost all speakers as I can not tell much of a difference. However, after being so used to my old TV and its average (or maybe poor) speakers, I could really tell a difference with this TV, the sound was loud and clear.
One disadvantage I found is that if you lose the remote then I would wish you luck in switching it off as there is no power button on the TV itself.

Bush 40 Inch Full HD 1080p Freeview LCD TV
by bilbobaginz
I was after a decent large LCD television, as the 32 inch I had just didn't fill the room as well as it had previously. It's irritating when technology advances and things get bigger for cheaper, it's great, but also annoying. In the end, after looking round a few of the top brands like Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and some of the cheap ... brands like Technika, Digihome and Logik, I settled for the average - Bush. Bush occupies the middle ground on price and quality, something I was content with. They also produce large size televisions with full HD capability and all the features of the better brands.
I picked up my Bush 40 inch Full HD 1080p Freeview LCD TV for £279.99 from Argos.co.uk and have been happy with the purchase ever since. The 50 Hz TV boasts an in-built freeview tuner complete with guide, and a 1920 x 1080 resolution display with excellent contrast and brightness settings. The sound isn't too great and can come across as quite tinny and treble-heavy. You have the option of connecting up the TV to some external speakers, a hi-fi set, anything with the required auxiliary cabling. Below is listed the sockets this TV has on its rear panels.
SOCKETS (connectivity):
- 2 HDMI sockets.
- 1 SCART socket.
- Component video.
- Composite.
- Headphone socket.
- AV socket (this one's located on the side).
The HD looks great, connected to my Tivo box, HD comes across clear and crisp at the full 1080p Setting. The Xbox 360 is also fantastic, bringing through the bright colours of the game with excellent responsiveness. The main fault of the TV is its guide / freeview interface which seems outdated and awkward to negotiate. The controller is easy to use and very self-explanatory , its black, the back sometimes comes lose though and I think I'm going to end up having to tape it shut.
I'm happy with this Full HD TV from Bush - the average. They've produced a device matching in quality of the better brands, besides sound, but for a considerably lower price - seeing as you can pay in excess of £400 for similar sized Samsung and LG products. They may look better, but look beyond the slick body and they're very much the same design. I have had no reliability issues with the Bush 40 inch either, and home to keep the TV long into the future. Highly recommended.

Samsung UE40EH5000
by rji0907
My partner is a gadget freak and very often upgrades the electrical appliances in our house to the latest models when he has the money. The latest addition to our family is the Samsung UE40EH5000 television.
We are fortunate enough to have two 'main' televisions in our home with one being our 'watching' television in the ... living room and one in our dining room that has been converted into a games room so at least my partner and the kids can play their games without interrupting my television viewing! This is their latest games television.
The supposed reason for the upgrade was the picture quality of our latest television. Apparently it was ruining the game play so he wanted something decent. We chose Samsung as a brand as our main viewing television is Samsung and we can't fault it in any way, shape or form and this television has followed suit.
This is a 40" television which I thought would look a little large in the space they have available for a television, but as it is a really thin framed television with quite a small, sleek stand, it isn't as large or imposing as I thought it would be and it fits a great without looking out of place.
This is a Full HD 1080p LED television that comes complete with freeview. My partner is one for just going out and purchasing a television, whereas I am more sensible and we compromised that he could have his television, if he let me find a good one at a good price so we aren't wasting money unnecessarily and I found this one on Amazon for the price of £387.00 which I thought was really good value for money for a Samsung and I was right.
This television has proven thus far to be extremely good value for money. Looking at the television I would have put it costing more than this as it is really sleek and stylish looking with a really thin frame which I love. The fact that it is a really good, reliable brand in Samsung also would make me think this is more expensive than it actually is.
As said, the reason for the upgrade was to get a better picture quality, and we got that in abundance. The crispness of both the picture and sound is just fantastic and the difference in the quality of their gaming is fantastic and clearly evident. There is no muffling or distortion in the sound whatsoever, no matter how loud their have the television (!), and the colouring in the picture is bright, crisp and vibrant and just how you would expect a television of excellent quality to be.
I am not exactly a technical expert so the one thing that concerns me about modern day products is the initial set up but luckily that wasn't a problem with this television. The manual is very detailed and thorough which helped and set up caused us no problems or hassles whatsoever which is a first in our household!
Overall, there genuinely isn't a bad thing I can say about this television and it reiterates why we tend to sway towards Samsung when choosing our televisions as you get excellent quality without having to pay through the roof for it and that's exactly what you get with this television. It looks the business and does everything you need it too and more and therefore it comes with a high recommendation from me. Read the complete review |
