... the choice of 2 scart sockets (on the back of the tv), 3 HDMI (2 on the back, 1 on the side), component sockets (for older video cameras, etc) and a VGA PC socket if you want to show off and run your PC on a 40 inch screen. Samsung LE-40A557 ... have been designing quality TVs for years now, and started selling LCD and plasma TVs around 6 or 7 years ago. The LE-40 is one of their latest TVs in a fantastic range that has been given great reviews over the year for its stellar quality and style. The LE-40 has a fantastic HD picture quality in 1080p, and I was shocked by how good it was when I first turned on my TV, and that was before I had even connected it up to an HD channel. The colours are all vivid and the amount of pixels (there are five times as many on a 1080p TV) gave the picture a really sharp edge. Sony KDL-40Z4500 ... acquired this magnificent piece of appliance last December. Dad wanted an upgrade of his Sony Wega TV to plasma or an LCD TV. Although, there s no problem with the Wega model for us in the past 5 yrs now, he was so impressed by it every time we went to the mall and keeps on nagging me how wish he could have one. Samsung LE-40R73BD ... this TV for a couple of years now and was my first LCD TV. So far no problems whatsoever, although it only has one HDMI socket it has a number of different connection types, optical in, 2 scarts socket one which is RGB. The picture via HDMI, scart and free view. The free view digital tuner is great, sometimes there is a slight delay when changing programs but not that bad. The composite connections on the side of the TV are good for connecting your digital camera or video camera.
