Samsung LE-40R88BDX ... LE40r* So few months ago the hubby and I enjoying a quite night in, nice meal and a couple of bottles of wine, TV adverts come on during the film your watching.... And the hubby says that s a nice big one .....(at the adverts that is) and I get that sinking feeling of oh no how much is this going to cost! The item in question is a Samsung LCD TV. So we go for a drive, no I should rephrase that I chauffer the hubby, and for some reason we end up in Yeovil, which is 30miles from where we live near Bath.... Yes I know bit far to go to look at a TV and hour later I am driving back in my Ford Ka, which has not got the biggest boot with a 42" Samsung LCD LE40R8... Sony KDL-40Z4500 ... s KDL-40Z4500 has surpassed the Pioneer 9th Generation (60" Kuro) for detail, Colour, Contrast, Brightness and even Blacks. Fast moving High Definition (1080i) sports and Bluray movies are a treat to watch with no visible motion Blur, Judder or Ghosting. Pioneer s do not handle (Heat Haze!). Watching standard definition and movies are great to watch. DVD s with a descent upscaler are also excellant to watch. I have carefully watched over time the inherited problems that come with the current range of Plasma s and LCDs. Sony KDL-40W4500 ... is the TV I ve been waiting for, for over 2 years. The problem with nearly all sub £1000 High Definition, (HD), sets released to date is that they have poor Standard Definition, (SD), output. In fact some of the really cheap, (sub £200) sets are so bad at showing SD content, you are actually better of with a ghosted analogue signal on a 20 year old CRT. The TV I ve had for the past 5 years or so, is a Sony KD32DX100. This is a SD CRT with a built in digital tuner. It also features 100hz processing that helps reduce "flicker".
