Hitachi L37VP01 ... this is one of the better-priced TVs in this size range it is hard to find considerable fault, and anyone purchasing this TV will no doubt be impressed with the picture and sound quality. I bought this as my first proper TV, after living on 14" portable TVs while at University, and obviously the jump in size impressed. However I can now be more partial having experienced other TVs. The picture quality is sharp particularly when viewing in HD, and the sound quality is crisp and clear. There are sufficient Scart and HDMI ports to cater for the most technology-loving family without the need for major rearrangement. However there is still a feeling of bud... UMC 19/16 ... was given the UMC television as a gift for my 21st birthday, making it just over a year old for me now. Unfortunately for me, it s not in perfect condition, and hasn t been for over half of its life in my hands (perhaps a lesson to get hold of warranty certificates in the future!). The television itself is an excellent piece of equipment; high-quality sound and image, excellent built-in Freeview (I ve never had a problem getting a signal!), and an integrated DVD player (a slot on the right-hand side that s tiny and invisible from most angles). Samsung LE-46M87BD ... bought this TV a while back. After reading up on the current options at the time it seemed like the best choice for me. The image quality is very good for bluray movies however it is let down slightly by its handling of standard definition picture. Standard input such as SD satellite TV has a slight blur and there are visible blocks. Fast moving object also suffer when not played through a high definition source. I have had this TV for over a year now and the only problem I have ever had with it was with the backlight. The light suddenly went out one day and rendered the TV impossible to watch.
