I was in desperate need of a new television, but could not afford one with Christmas coming up, so my partner offered to buy me one as an early Christmas present. It cost him £199 from Argos.
Once we got the television home I took it all out of the box. In the box you had the television, with the plug and lead attached. The instruction manual and also the remote control, which came with 2 AAA batteries included.
I did not set the television up for a couple of hours as they do say to leave them for a while to settle if they have been laid down, whether this is true or not I am not sure but I was not going to risk it.
The television was pretty easy to set up, I just needed to plug the scart lead in from the sky box, and also the HD lead, which does not come supplied with the television. So if you do not have one you will have to buy one seperately.
Once all the leads were plugged in I switched the television on and I tried to scan channels, now here I did get confused as it could not find any available channels. But then I went through the source button on the remote, and found HDMI1 so I clicked on that and pressed ok and there was all my sky channels.
The remote for the television is pretty easy and basic to use, and you can use it for anything to do with the television, you do not need to really touch the television. However they do have the power button and the volume controls at the side of the television, which can also be used.
The only thing I found with this television is that when you do turn it off, it does stay on standby, so you may want to switch it off at the plug when it is not in use.
The picture quality of this television is really good and everything is clear to see, obviously it is even more clearer on HD but it is still really good on normal channels and does not seem to make a difference.
The sound is also very good on this, and you do not have to have your television top a loud volume to hear it, I usually only have mine set to 20 and the most I have ever gone to is 26 and that is more than enough, when the kids have been screaming I could still hear it.
I would recommend this to buy its not too expensive its a good size, easy to set up and not too complicated to use.
