Advantages: Picture quality, Great sound
Disadvantages: No carry case supplied
Well call me sad, but I do like to keep up with Coronation Street, and this is not easy to do from a campsite. With this little TV, however, it's not a problem. The 2.5" screen is ample for a decent view of what is going on, and the sound quality is excellent. The picture reception is of course dependent upon the signal strength in the area, but I have found that in some areas you can even get away without extending the aerial. The tuning works via a left/right button which scrolls through the available channels. Mercifully the sound silences while this is going on so you don't get deafened by the snow sound. There is no colour adjuster, but the brightness can be varied. The four AA batteries keep it going for around 4.5 hours, and add to the weight of the unit, but there is a stand to enable the TV to be perched on a desktop for easy viewing. My understanding is that the battery life for this unit exceeds that of comparable products. For car journeys it is possible to buy an adaptor to run the unit via the car battery. So there are no gaps in my Corrie knowledge, I can follow Wimbledon daily and I know how Schumaker is getting on during the F1 season.

- 30/12/03 Hope this model is improved. My one, about five years old, never had a decent aerial so picture was ropey and I spent more time fiddling to get a picture than being able to enjoy the gadget, Unfortunately bought from Comets who refused to take it back as it wasn't actually faulty. |
