I can t comment on the built in speaker quality as I simply haven t used them, but I hear elsewhere that they are slightly above average for speakers which, lets face it, will never be as good as separate speakers. This monitor has and image contrast ratio of 700:1 and a response time of 8ms; perfectly adequate for most games. The added bonus here is a screen that can be rotated 90 degrees.
