Advantages: Good looks, excellent picture, very good sound

Disadvantages: none

I recently decided it was time I dragged myself kicking and screaming into the 21st century, and swapped my old television in for a nice new up to date LCD screen.

I only have a small front room and did not need to go mad with one of the 42" televisions that my children and all their friends seem to think they need, so I decided about 26" to 32" would do me fine. I have heard many good reviews and reports from friends that LG make very good televisions so they were always going to be a contender. They are also very reasonably priced in comparison to some of the other well known makes, as I discovered when I started to look for my new purchase.

I looked in my local Currys and Comet first as I decided they would have the best choice, however I soon found that a lot of the staff in these two stores assumed that as a woman I would not know very much about televisions and they seemed to want to tell me a load of rubbish that I thought made them show how little they actually knew, this put me off these two stores to be honest and I ended up in a very small family run electrical shop in our local town, called Brothertons.

I found the staff here to be very friendly and eventually decided that the LG 26LG3000 was more than big enough at 26" but at their price of £299.99 it was also very affordable. It had all the features I needed (actually I just needed 1 scart input for my DVD player but this boasts 2), the built in freeview meant I could move my freeview box up to the bedroom and there were two HDMI plugs should I need them at a later date (I doubt it though!).

Once I had the television set up in my front room I have to say I found set up very easy with it having auto set up, and in use the picture is excellent, far better than my old CRT television. It also looks extremely nice with its shiny black frame and can be pushed up against the wall much more than my old television and so even allowing a little bit more room in my lounge. The sound, I have to say, is also very good quality and I am really happy with the whole package, and would recomend this television, and LG as a make in general, to anyone.

Summary: A great TV at a great price
