I have owned this LG television for five years now. I bought it from Argos when they had a promotion on all televisions. It was originally priced over £1000 but I paid around £750. A number of friends recommended the LG brand to me as I did not know much about it.
When I was on the lookout for a television a number of points were important to me. Firstly the size, I specifically wanted a 37" television (which this one is). Secondly I wanted a television that black and this fitted into my criteria and finally I wanted a television with excellent quality sound and vision.
I did not know what the sound and vision would be like until I used it, all I had was the recommendations that I had from friends on the brand.
The set up of the TV was very easy, I did not even bother with the instructions (the instructions were on a CD, I did not want to load up my computer so I tried without them). My only initial negative thought was relating to the remote control. The remote control was silver; I presumed with a black television that the remote control would be the same color. I think that LG must have had a large batch of silver controls left over from when most televisions were silver.
For me the most important part of a television is the quality of picture and sound. On this television both are great. This is evident when listening to music for the sound or watching sport on the television for the picture. I do have a small issue with the sound volume as there is a massive difference between volume 2 (where you can hardly hear the television) and volume 3 (where it just that bit too loud as you can hear it in the next room). There needs to be a volume 2.5 in my opinion.
I have currently my Xbox 360, sky box, wii and HD/DVD recorder connected to the television, it is really simple to change from each system, and all you need to do is use the input button on the control.
Finally I use this television most days for around four hours. The only technical issue I have had is that once the television froze, I could not change channel or turn the television off. The only thing I could do was to pull the plug out and start again. As I mentioned this only happened once, I have no idea why.
When I replace my television I think I will choose another LG television as overall I have been very happy.
